EnterConnection Creativity Festival Vision
“The vibe's so mysterious, not just one more day to kill
I could lose my connection
if I do not respect it enough, fade away it will…”
- Blackalicious, Excerpt from the The Craft
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals serve as a venue to protect, support, and augment a Community of aspiring visual/performing artists and visitors alike. The Festival seeks to inspire, encourage, and support visual/performing artists, community representatives, its audience members, and its production team in a unified quest to lead a responsible, contributive existence. An EnterConnection Creativity Festival represents a movement away from the destructive towards the constructive, a movement away from the harmful towards the beneficial, a movement away from addictive towards the Aspiring, and finally, a movement away from separation towards Connection.
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals provide a venue where anyone with both the means and desire to do so may go to find, not lose themselves. It is an environment that is safe and secure for spectators, performers, and crew members alike.
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals exist as a venue for Constructive Entertainment; Constructive entertainment is defined as entertainment that is beneficial to one’s self, another person, place, and/or thing -- as opposed to destructive entertainment which is harmful to one’s self, another person, place, and/or thing. Destructive Entertainment does so at the expense and/or well-being of any particular person, place, and/or thing.
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals do not champion any one religious and/or philosophical system nor does EnterConnection stand behind any particular political or institutional motive. EnterConnection does support any and all systems that maintain, support, and/or augment constructive, positive, and beneficial living. All religious, philosophical, and/or political perspectives that seek to break down barriers of separation and build bridges of Connection are welcome at the Festival.
The Content of an EnterConnection Festival:
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals do not promote any one type of genre/form of musical and/or artistic expression but rather seeks to promote conscious content within any particular genre/form of musical and/or artistic expression.
What is Conscious Content?
· Conscious Content is content that first and foremost does not champion theories or ideologies that promote destructivity, the harmful, and/or separation amongst our own self, our own immediate environment, our society, and/or our world at large.
· Conscious Content always carries within it an underlying urge and motion to aspire, to improve, to reflect, to positively change, and to Connect.
· Conscious Content has both a direction and destination. Conscious content does not aimlessly wander nor does Conscious Content seek to simply divert and/or distract the mind.
· Conscious Content raises awareness about topics and subject matters that are pertinent to the overall well-being of an individual, family, and/or society at large.
EnterConnection Admittance
The entrance to an EnterConnection Creativity festival is monetarily free for all. This is vital in order that the possibility to attend an event is not denied to anyone, regardless of economic status.
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals welcome participants and visitors of all-ages. In fact, as a basic rule of thumb, any particular act, performance, and/or presentation that would be unsuitable for a child to view shall be deemed unsuitable as content for a Festival. In the same manner, any particular action taken by any audience member and/or visitor that would be unsuitable for a child would stand as just cause for removal from the EnterConnection Festival grounds.
EnterConnection Creativity Festivals stand as an Intoxicant-free Zone:
EnterConnection Creativity Festival’s are intoxicant-free. Intoxicants shall be defined as any consumable that has been deemed illegal by law, any consumable that requires maturation to a certain age in order to be consumed (alcohol and cigarettes), and any prescription drugs/medicines that have not been prescribed to the user.
The Festival seeks to create an aware and attentive environment where full attention is given by performers to audience members and vice versa. In order to successfully create an environment where such awareness, attentiveness, and consideration is alive-- we must first discard those ‘things’ that often cause the mind to wander and lose its ability to stay present. This is the main reason that we ask that intoxicants and their derivatives be excluded from the Festival grounds and/or amongst the EnterConnection Community.
In addition to the above reason, an EnterConnection Creativity Festival stands as an intoxicant-free zone because of the dynamic age range of its performers and visitors. We wish to remove any temptation to break the rules and/or law, especially amongst our aspiring youth, where the lure of intoxication can be overwhelming. It is not sufficient that the staff, performers, and/or guests of an EnterConnection Festival live by the moniker “Do as I say not as I do” but rather “Do as I say and do as I do.”
